They’re looking a little forlorn, but they’re still standing and that’s saying something. Dale found these little homes (Wardway Home #105) in North Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, and the second house is in New Albany, Indiana. Both homes need some love and attention, and the house in Pennsylvania yearns to be freed of its aluminum skin, but they haven’t been torn down and that’s a spot of good news.

Notice the distinctive pair of box windows on one side, and the small shed dormer on the side of the roof. Montgomery Ward Modern Home #105 is a very distinctive house with several eye-catching features. And perhaps best of all, “Farmers all over the country are giving this comfortable home the preference.”

The floorplan shows those paired box windows on the right.
